(***NOTE: Gen Allen was promoted in May, 2021, to the rank of Major General shortly following this visit which was in late April, 2021.) On 28 April 2021, Air Force Civil Engineer Center Commander Brig. Gen. John Allen was briefed on the operational capabilities of the Recovery of Airbases Denied By Ordnance (RADBO) laser system during a three-day visit to Tyndall Air Force Base, Florida. Following a review of the built-in safety and proper operational procedures by AFCEC EOD Program Analyst Dale King, Gen. Allen operated the laser system as part of the AFCEC Ordnance Characterization Trials to neutralize live ordnance and collect the applicable reaction data. (Also operating the system immediately following Gen. Allen was AFCEC Operations and Energy Directorates Director, Col. Michelle Harwood.)
