The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District Maintenance Support Team completed a shoreline restoration project at Old Hickory Lake July 22, 2021 to preserve the historic Rock Castle Slave Cemetery in Hendersonville, Tennessee. The four day project required a shoreline reshape and the installation of 180 tons of riprap to prevent erosion caused by waves that would hit and undercut the banks as motor vessels passed through the area.
