U.S. Marines with Battalion Landing Team 3/5, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), prepare for a helicopter raid training exercise aboard the amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6) in the Solomon Sea, Aug. 7, 2021. The training exercise consisted of Marines inserting, raiding and securing a known location by MV-22B Osprey. The 31st MEU is operating aboard ships of America Expeditionary Strike Group in the 7th fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with allies and partners and serve as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
