U.S. Army Brig. Gen. Jeffrey Smiley, Joint Task Force California commander, and Gil Sanborn, Civilian Aide to the Secretary of the Army (CASA) for California, visit Task Force Spearhead Soldiers from 23rd Brigade Engineer Battalion and 2-3 Infantry Battalion, both under 1-2 Stryker Brigade Combat Team, assigned to Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington, during their trip to Quincy, California, Sept. 10, 2021. The Soldiers of TF Spearhead are deployed in support of the Department of Defense wildland firefighting response operations on the Dixie Fire in Plumas National Forest, California.
