The annual Run for the Fallen event serves to honor those lost while in the line of duty and promotes services available to survivors. This year's event featured thousands of participants and guest speakers including Maj. Gen. Mark T. Simerly, U.S. Army Combined Arms Support Command and Fort Lee commanding general; and retired Col. Tamatha Patterson, a former 23rd Quartermaster Brigade commander. It also included performances by the U.S. Army Drill Team and U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command Band.
