Commander of First Cavalry Division's 1st Brigade Combat Team, Colonel Robert Abrams, tells reporters at KWTX in Texas that the 1st Cavalry Division's mission has not changed. They are still trying to provide a safe and secure environment for the Iraqi people and American Soldiers. COL Abrams says their obstacles include fighting insurgents, and during moments of calm, getting out to make personal connections with Iraqis. Two hundred million dollars has been invested in ongoing restoration projects. Says First Cav's focus is on four primary areas: sewage, water, electricity, and transfer movement.
