    48th Fighter Wing

Fighter type aircraft use several types of axle jacks to raise the aircraft strut. To accommodate the ability to jack using only the 35-ton jack, our innovation is to use a 3-D printed, customizable adapter, to lift different airframes. This will enhance equipment availability to support Transient assist, Agile Combat Employment, Crash Damage Aircraft Recovery, and when deployment to multiple Areas of Operation. The aircraft strut is scanned, and the adapter is customized to fit any strut, allowing a 35-ton jack to fit, even when the tire is ground down to the base of the strut.
