Latest data released By the Cost of War Project at Brown University reported suicide rates among military personnel are at an all-time high since military death by suicide tracking began after 9/11. To curb this trend among Army Reserve soldiers, the 451st Expeditionary Sustainment Command (ESC) Special Programs staff provided Above the Line training to Risk Reduction Liaisons (RRLs) September 23-29. This training has been adapted from earlier suicide prevention trainings and aims to provide Army Reserve Risk Reduction Liaisons (RRLs) with resources and support to help soldiers and their dependents resolve personal crises as well as seek mental health treatment from a provider. RRLs assist Suicide Prevention Program Managers who cannot always be where the soldier is.
