Coast Guard Lt. Cmdr. Patricia Elliston and Texas Parks & Wildlife Department Capt. Game Warden Brandi Reeder urge anglers to enact safe practices when fishing along state waterways and coastlines. So far in 2021, 19 people have died while fishing in Texas, nine of whom were wade fishing, or fishing on foot in shallow waters.
