U.S. Marines with Marine Wing Support Squadron (MWSS) 172, Marine Aircraft Group 36, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing, conduct Expeditionary Advanced Base Operations on Ie Shima, Okinawa, Japan, Oct. 6, 2021. MWSS-172 established a forward arming and refueling point on an airfield secured and defended by 2d Battalion, 3d Marines, 3d Marine Division, to support sustained aviation operations.
