The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Europe District's Southern Europe Area Office based in Vicenza, Italy and the 173rd Airborne Division also based in Vicenza have a unique officer development program that allows junior engineer officers from the 54th Brigade Engineer Battalion to gain invaluable experience with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers supporting a construction mission that spans multiple countries in Southern Europe.
