This week marks the start of my 3rd year of having the privilege of being your Surgeon General. As I took office I saw a great opportunity to increase our focus on the readiness of our Fleet and Fleet Marine Force, and ensure we were better aligned to support the National Defense Strategy and directions we receive from the CNO and Commandant of the Marine Corps. Out of this analysis came my four priorities – The “4Ps” – which became our framework for achieving our mission….People, Platforms, Performance and Power.
The 4 P’s outline the narrative of who we are and what only we can do: Navy Medicine provides extremely well-trained medical experts, capable of operating in austere conditions on expeditionary platforms, operating as high performance, cohesive teams in order to project Medical Power in support of Naval Superiority. Our contribution to lethality is the survival of our warfighters.
This is what sets us uniquely apart and why we wear the Navy uniform.
So how have we done as an organization?
… Hear my perspectives and check out some great pictures of Navy Medicine in action.
