In recognition of the United States Marine Corps’ 246th birthday on November 10, 2021, this video highlights the wartime experiences of three Marines. Colonel Allan Cruz served in Vietnam as a Sergeant for 21 months with the 3d Marine Division. Lieutenant Colonel David Althoff flew as a Marine aviator from 1957-1972, deployed twice to Vietnam, and flew CH-46 Sea Knight’s during the Siege of Khe Sanh and the Tet Offensive. Thomas Isenburg was among the first “official” combat troops ashore in Vietnam in 1965, where he served as an infantry rifleman and radioman. The United States of America Vietnam War Commemoration salutes all Marine Corps veterans who served honorably during the Vietnam War.
