The strategically-located seaport in Alexandroupoli, Greece has emerged as a vital and highly-capable transportation hub for U.S. Army forces in Europe.
An exceptional international and interagency partnership between the U.S., our Hellenic allies and our commercial partners has resulted in significant infrastructure improvements at the port – which can now support the movement of sustainment, aviation and armored units for the Army.
Since 2019, the Alexandroupoli port has played a key role in major Army exercises and operations to include DEFENDER-Europe and Atlantic Resolve.
