Joint Force Headquarters - Nebraska National Guard

Sgt. Scott Honnens, a crew chief serving in the Nebraska Army National Guard, helps the pilots of a UH-60 Blackhawk helicopter deliver a 780-gallon bucket of water on hot spots in support of firefighters battling the Buffalo Creek wildfire in western Nebraska Nov. 16, 2021. Nebraska Governor Pete Ricketts directed the activation of two UH-60 Blackhawk helicopters with water buckets and 9 Army National Guard soldiers for the mission after a fire started and quickly spread burned more than 2,000 acres the previous day. It marked the fourth activation of Nebraska Army National Guard personnel and equipment for wildfire fighting duty in 2021. (Video courtesy of Capt. Joshua Pryor)
