Flood waters surrounded the city of Marysville during California’s record 1963 floods. This threat has been a common occurrence throughout the years, causing significant property damage and loss of life. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and its partners have teamed up to upgrade the 7.6 miles of ring levee that surround the city and reduce flood risk.
