U.S. Army Capt. Freelie Mitchell, DVM, Task Force Medical Veterinary Services OIC teaches a class on K9 Tactical Combat Casualty Care with the help of U.S. Army Pvt. 1st Class Alexus Leyno, Animal Care Specialist, at Camp Bondsteel, Kosovo, December 2-3, 2021. The course was focused on providing U.S. Army and Armed Forces of Ukraine medics and Military Working Dog (MWD) handlers with the knowledge and experience to be able to provide lifesaving care to an injured MWD in a tactical environment.
