This video introduces Safety Leadership Rounds (SLR), also known as WalkRounds™, a standardized communication practice where senior leaders engage with staff members in their work areas and listen to their concerns.
During SLRs, command suite senior leaders visit clinical areas, including patient care and ancillary departments, and non-clinical areas such as the business office, information technology, and sterile processing. This practice enables leaders and staff an opportunity to discuss quality, safety, areas of potential risk, policy compliance, and work-related stressors that negatively impact patient safety and create stress for staff.
The goal is to improve the reliability of care and promote a culture of safety and workforce wellbeing.
