Obstacles presented by the cold, distance and terrain must be overcome. "Modern" equipment is utilized to the greatest extent, though none has yet been developed for Arctic uses (This film was shot in 1948). This film reviews the equipment that was used in the 1940s in the Naval Petroleum Reserve No 4, Alaska and the modifications and improvements that are required for use during Arctic winter and summer operations.
