Sailors aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Tripoli (LHA 7) move an F-35B attached to the Marine Air Group (MAG 13) into its hangar. The USS Tripoli and other amphibious assault ships can operate as dedicated fixed-wing strike platforms when needed, bringing fifth generation Short Takeoff/Vertical Landing (STOVL) aircraft wherever they are required.
