The Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Frank E. Petersen Jr. (DDG 121) arrives at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii, June 13, 2022. The ship is the U.S. Navy’s newest Arleigh Burke-class destroyer and is named in honor of the late U.S. Marine Corps Lt. Gen. Frank E. Petersen Jr., who was the first Black aviator and general officer in the Marine Corps.
