Lt. Col. Benjamin Hines the Area Support Group – Kuwait, Chaplain, explains the significance of the Chaplain Corp Anniversary following a cake cutting ceremony at Camp Arifjan, Kuwait, July 29, 2022.
During a brief presentation they re-emphasized their three main values: nurture the living, care for the wounded, and honor the fallen. Hines expanded on their history and added, “George Washington thought it was very important for his Soldiers to have access to express their religious freedom. So, he wanted a diversity of Chaplains and asked Congress to provide each Regiment a Chaplain.”
This foundation remains strong in the Army with a wide variety of Chaplains from numerous faiths.
