Tyndall officials offered a behind-the-scenes look at the rebuild planning process for the flightline district north of Highway 98, August 2, 2022. Planners rehearsed the buildout by conducting a Rehearsal of Concept, or ROC drill, to minimize the impact of construction activities on the base’s busy flying mission. ROC Drills help engineers visualize and anticipate the effects of construction activities on the base which will inform construction planning to ensure the base’s mission continues and construction remains on schedule. The drill, conducted over a large map of the base. It was spearheaded and moderated by Air Force Civil Engineer Center Natural Disaster Recovery Program Management Office engineers who explained construction actions over six month intervals and placed physical markers on the map to represent new construction activities such as new military construction, modernization and demolition projects.
