Marines from 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit logistics combat
element, Combat Logistics Battalion (CLB) 31, worked alongside the aviation
combat element, Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squdron-262 (Reinforced), to
successfully execute a shore-to-ship and back to shore transport of a Joint
Light Tactical Vehicle (JLTV) with a CH-53E Super Stallion. This exercise
proved that the 31st MEU can bring heavy equipment to even the most remote
locations. The 31st MEU is operating aboard ships of the Tripoli Amphibious
Ready Group in the 7th Fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability
with allies and partners and serve as a ready response force to defend peace
and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
