Our Soldiers continue to move out of the Smoke Bomb Hill barracks, and are relocated to more suitable barracks across the installation or being being granted certificates of non-availability to look for privatized housing.
We are giving our Soldiers the option to either move themselves or offering transportation services to allow flexibility based on their individual needs.
We know our Soldiers are frustrated by this. We get it and understand. Communication and transparency is of the utmost importance at this point in time, and we are reaching out to those impacted Soldiers going through this process to better understand the situation on the ground level. Communication is vital during this time.
The movement of our Soldiers is being done with a deliberate and phased approach. Yes, it will take time but we want our Soldiers to know, leaders are working hard to improve their quality of life.
We thank these Soldiers for their honesty and service. We ask all leaders to keep your Soldiers informed at every step of this process.
Our Soldiers deserve the BEST, and their health and welfare will continue to be our top priority! (U.S. Army Video by Pfc. Jacob Bradford)
