U.S. Marines with Maritime Raid Force, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, conducted high altitude low open jumps over Ie Shima, Aug. 1, 2022. The MRF ensures they are capable of inserting through multiple methods in order to maintain their ability to quickly respond to a variety of scenarios. The 31st MEU is operating aboard ships of the Tripoli Amphibious Ready Group in the 7th Fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with allies and partners and serve as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the INDOPACOM region.
