Airmen and F-16 fighter jets from the South Carolina Air National Guard’s 169th Fighter Wing, including U.S. Air Force Lt. Col. Christian Hamilton a 157th Fighter Squadron pilot and Senior Airman Daniel Hernandez, a public affairs specialist with the 1st Combat Camera Squadron are participating in Relampago VII, Aug. 30, 2022 in Barranquilla, Colombia. Flying along with them are KC-135s from the 93rd Air Refueling Wing and the KFIR fighter jet from the Colombian Air Force. The military exercise focuses on training techniques, tactics and procedures, and strengthening interoperability between the U.S. and Colombian air forces as allies under NATO standards. Relampago VII includes two partner nations and integrate combat interoperability. F-16s along with personnel from the South Carolina Air National Guard’s 169th Fighter Wing will rapidly integrate into theater training, as well as joint, coalition and partnered missions.
