After the Army Corps of Engineers, Inland Waterways Users Board (IWUB) meeting that was conducted on August 16, 2022, board members planned a tugboat tour to Ice Harbor Lock and Dam the following day, August 17 to familiarize themselves with a project that was discussed in the meeting. Members arrived at Port Dock Facility 191 Grain Terminal Road, Burbank, WA at 1000. They embarked Shaver Transportation Vessel (tugboat) to Ice Harbor L&D via Waterway. Upon arrival, the tugboat entered Ice Harbor’s Navigation lock and representatives experienced how cargo is moved along the Snake River. In 2021, 4.2 million tons of cargo moved on the Snake River.
