U.S. Marines with 5th Air Naval Gunfire Liaison Company, III Marine Expeditionary Force Information Group train during a certification exercise at the Jungle Warfare Training Center, Camp Gonsalvez, Okinawa, Japan, Oct. 5, 2022. The purpose of a certification exercise is to confirm Marines’ abilities in preparation of combat. III MIG functions as the vanguard of III MEF, operating in the Indo-Pacific region’s information environment, and supports Marine Air Ground Task Force operations with communications, intelligence, and supporting arms liaison capabilities.
