Soldiers of U.S. Army Southern European Task Force, Africa (SETAF-AF) conduct land navigation during the Expert Soldier Badge (ESB) qualification in Asiago, Italy, Oct. 31, 2022. The ESB is an Army special skills badge that is awarded to U.S. military and NATO military personnel who successfully complete a set of qualification tests, including both written ad performance portions. Soldiers also attempted qualification for the Expert Infantry and Expert Field Medical badges in a combined event called, "E3B." This is the first E3B hosted at SETAF-AF with competitors from SETAF-AF, 173rd Airborne Brigade, 509th Strategic Signal Battalion, U.S. Special Operations Command Africa, units from U.S. Army Europe and Africa Command and service members from Spain, Croatia and Italy.
