Exercise Port Protector 2022 is a multi-agency port security exercise focused on preparedness in the event of a prolonged loss of electrical power to the Los Angeles-Long Beach port complex resulting from a combined cyber and kinetic attack from a determined adversary.
L.A. Department of Water and Power; Southern California Edison; Southern California Gas Company; various telecommunications and regional potable and wastewater specialists, multi-modal shipping interests, as well as emergency responders from the Los Angeles Police Department, Los Angeles Port Police, Long Beach Police, Los Angeles County Sheriff, Los Angeles and Long Beach Fire Departments, the California Office of Emergency Services, U.S. Coast Guard, and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
