In 1944 the 101st Airborne Division fought in the Battle of the Bulge. The goal was to secure the key city of Bastogne. Their determination, bravery and willingness to sacrifices remain a constant inspiration for all Screaming Eagles.
Nearly 78 years later, leaders from the 101st walked the very ground in where the division fought and defended the key city during the battle. These leaders took every opportunity to understand the gravity of courage needed and the hardships of this battle.
At the end of the day the 101st leadership took the experience one step further to truly understand what their forefathers went through during the freezing winter of 44 and dug their own fighting positions.
