Service members from AB 201, Niger regularly teach English to members of the Niger Armed Forces (FAN). The Civil Affairs Battalion started the classes as a way to build relationships between AB 201 and the FAN. The classes are broken into six different groups. FAN members are placed into the sections according to their level of English proficiency. When the CAB first started the classes in June 2022, less than 40 FAN members attended. As word spread, the popularity of the classes grew. The classes are now attended by more than 500 FAN members. The classes are something both AB 201 service members and FAN members look forward to each week.
