Camp McCoy, which is the current Fort McCoy, established a separation and reassignment center to expedite the return to civilian life for some of the 80,000 enlisted U.S. Army Reserve Soldiers who were mobilized for the Korean War Jan. 23, 1952. 88th Readiness Division Ward Zischke provides more details on this mobilization.
