Brain Injury Awareness Month, recognized each March, provides an important opportunity to bring attention to the prevention of traumatic brain injury (TBI) and to promote strategies to improve the quality of life for persons living with TBI and their families. A Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) is caused by a blow to the head which can disrupt normal functioning of the brain. Concussions can cause cognitive, physical, and emotional effects that may not fade with time. If you receive a blow to your head or suspect a TBI contact your local medical provider.
