The Chief’s Report recommending this project was signed in early 2022 and the Disaster Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act, 2022 provided $8 million to begin preconstruction engineering and design. The supplemental funding of the preconstruction engineering and design phase not only signifies urgency of this project for residents but also underscores the importance of South Louisiana to the nation.
