May is Asian American & Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month, a celebration of the innumerable contributions, vibrant cultures, and rich heritage of Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders in this country. This AAPI Heritage month we will highlight outstanding Soldiers in the Raptor Brigade that exemplify what it means to reach their maximum potential through service to our Army.
Sgt. Isaac Stirling, 16th Combat Aviation Brigade, is an attack helicopter repairer (15R), from Yokosuka, Japan. He recalls a time during his service where he was able to share a part of his culture by acting as a translator during an exercise with the Japan Self Defense Forces and says that he cannot wait to share more of his culture with the formation.
Since 1775, the U.S. Army has been an institution built by many people of different backgrounds; all able to leverage their heritage to contribute unique perspectives, skills and talents to help us fight and win our nation's wars.
