Boatswain’s Mate 1st Class James Rutherford, assigned to Port Operations onboard Navy Support Facility Diego Garcia, speaks on the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal he was recently awarded. Rutherford showed initiative and situational awareness by providing safety and comfort to a team member that was injured during an evolution.
