Divers from the U.S. Coast Guard, Royal Australian Navy, and the Armed Forces of New Caledonia work together during a diving exercise aboard the Australian Defense Vessel Reliant off the coast of Noumea, New Caledonia, Apr. 28, 2023. This multinational effort monitors underwater ordinance submerged since World War II from defense efforts in the Pacific. This coordinated training is part of the Croix du Sud exercise which strengthens long-standing regional partnerships and enables critical capabilities to provide humanitarian assistance. U.S. forces are overseen by senior representative Col. Anthony Leyva, 322nd Civil Affairs Brigade Commander, 9th Mission Support Command.
