Representatives from the FBI, U.S. Department of Energy and U.S. Department of Defense convened on Ellington Field Joint Reserve Base in Houston, Texas for Exercise Prominent Hunt, May 1 – 5.
Prominent Hunt is an interagency exercise, led by the FBI, which is designed to provide attribution in the event of a nuclear detonation on U.S. soil.
Maj. Aaron Heffelfinger, deputy team chief for the 20th Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, Explosives (CBRNE) Commands’ Nuclear Disablement Team 1 and 1st Lt. Toy Nguyen, team leader for the 11th CBRNE Company (Technical Escort) and CBRNE Response Team 1, detailed their experiences integrating with their interagency partners.
