When an EF-5 tornado struck, our Citizen Airmen did not hesitate to assist their fellow statesmen in need the night of May 20, 2013. Guardsmen were out within an hour of the event, helping search schools and neighborhoods, rescuing survivors and navigating the road to recovery in the weeks that followed. Our Airmen upheld the Oklahoma Standard throughout that time and because of that experience they continue to understand the importance of service at home. Many of our Airmen were impacted alongside their neighbors, friends and families during this event, but came out stronger, together.
