U.S. Marines with 1st Reconnaissance Battalion, 1st Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, and 1st Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, all part of 1st Marine Division, participate in an urban sniper course hosted by Expeditionary Operations Training Group, I Marine Expeditionary Force, at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, California, May 10-12, 2023. The urban sniper course is designed to train designated personnel in advanced sniper marksmanship at known and unknown distances during daylight, lowlight, and darkness with the M40 series Sniper Rifle and M110 Semi-Automatic Sniper System.
