Soldiers from the 3d U.S. Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard) place U.S. flags in front of the over 260,000 headstones and approximately 7,000 niche rows in Arlington National Cemetery ahead of the National Memorial Day Observance.
This is the 75th anniversary of this time-honored tradition, and gives Old Guard soldiers the opportunity not only to honor our nation’s finest but to connect with the generations of servicemembers who have come before them.
