U.S. Marines, with Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron (HMLA) 169 and Marine Wing Support Squadron 172, land and refuel aircraft with HMLA-169 in preparation for Shinka 23 at Camp Fuji, Japan, June 8, 2023. Marine Aircraft Group 36 will support 4th Marine Regiment's execution of Shinka 23 by providing combat assault transport and aerial escort, aerial delivery operations, and simulated close air support.
