Camp Casey, South Korea (13 July 2023) - Soldiers and medical personnel assigned to 210th Field Artillery Brigade, working with elements from 65th Medical Brigade, conducted a Mass Casualty Event (MASCAL) this week at locations around Camp Casey. The training served as the culminating event for Medics and Combat Lifesaver (CLS) certified Soldiers who had undergone rigorous training and certifications over the past 12 weeks in preparation for the MASCAL.
The "Thunder" Brigade medics acted as the "Role 1" forward medical location, offering front line medical care to simulated casualties. Upon arrival to the "Role 1" area, medical and CLS personnel would assess and triage the patients, moving them into the medical tent for care in order of precedence. Meanwhile, the 65th Medical Brigade served as "Role 2" which transports the casualties from the "Role 1" facility to their "Role 2" facility which provides additional, more robust medical care.
