Ft. Wadsworth, NY - 140 Soldiers attended the first-ever 353rd CACOM Freedom Fest here on July 15, 2023. The 353rd Civil Affairs Command Soldier Family Readiness Group hosted the event to connect Soldiers to community partners who support military families and enhance command mission readiness. The social and informational event featured participation from organizations, including the New York City Department of Veterans Services, Craig Newmark New York City Tri-State Chapter Blue Star Families, and Mu Beta Phi Military Fraternity Inc. Interviews include Edwin Mickel, national director of the Liberty Work Program with Mu Beta Phi Military Fraternity, Tiffany Nelson, a volunteer with Craig Newmark New York City Tri-State Chapter Blue Star Families, and Sgt. 1st Class Abel Torres, a civil affairs non-commissioned officer with the 353rd Civil Affairs Command.
