The California National Guard recently increased the amount of deployed service members at the California - Mexico border by 50% as part of the Governor’s statewide initiative to disrupt drug trafficking at four ports of entry on Sept. 7, 2023. Within the last year, the California National Guard, in partnership with local and federal law enforcement agencies, seized over 2.37 Million pounds of illicit narcotics, approximately $5.3 Billion.
