    Artist Rick Herter talks about his background and explains how he drew inspiration from space history to create the painting “High Ground Intercept,” which was unveiled at at Space Operations Command headquarters at Peterson Space Force Base, Colo., Oct. 20, 2023. The artwork is a first for the command and depicts a futuristic U.S. Space Force vehicle intercepting an adversary satellite, who in turn is positioning to disable a friendly satellite.
