Presentation at the Military Libraries Virtual Training Summit, 12-15 September 2023. Waves of new active duty, civilian, and family members arrive in the U.S. Army Garrison Italy community every month. The Ederle Library is a community center—it is a meeting point, a computer lab, and safe place for families with children of all ages. Relied upon by patrons for advice, guidance, and education, the library is viewed as a trusted community source. Patron interactions can shift quickly to topics that are very personal, and the presenters will discuss different levels of concierge-type service the library provides.
