Members from the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force host a cultural exchange event before the start of Yama Sakura 85 on Camp Higashi-Chitose on Dec. 2, 2023. Sharing and exchanging cultures is vital to our nations' partnership as we prepare to start Yama Sakura 85. Yama Sakura 85 is historic as it is the first-ever joint command post exercise involving the U.S. Army, Japan Ground Self-Defense Force, and the Australian Army on Japanese soil.
